Hamid Sallali (NL, 1983) is a human creative you can’t put in a box. Born and raised in a tiny village in the province of Zeeland, of Dutch and Moroccan parentage. While he loves starting his day with ambient sound scapes—it gives space to thinking, intuition—during production sprints it gets a little noisier, think punk-rock, metal, hardcore. In his spare time he enjoys what he refers to as ‘fuming’. No, he doesn’t smoke, never did. He does own over threehundred aroma-materials that he loves sniffing and creating perfume compositions with. Imagine the scent in his studio! All this out of a tiny village at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountains in the south of Spain. He’s still well connected to the Netherlands though, where Sallali has most of his client-base, family and friends.
